Frequent prolonged exposure to the sun leads to an increase in the occurrence of melanoma. The focus group carries out research into the molecular mechanisms, the role of stem cells, immune cells, vitamin D and long non-coding RNAs, and new treatment methods for this disease (including immunotherapy). The group consists of a collaboration of dermatologists, oncologists, surgeons, pathologists, geneticists, biochemists, cancer biologists, nanotechnologists and bioinformatics.
